About aspenpreceptor.com

We are an independent service built around one job: helping Aspen University nursing students secure a qualified, specialty-matched preceptor and an approved field-experience site so they can move forward in their program.

Who we are

aspenpreceptor.com is an independent placement service for Aspen University nursing students. We work with students across the RN-to-BSN, MSN, RN-to-MSN, and DNP programs who need a preceptor and a field-experience or practicum site and want help getting there faster.

We want to be clear from the start: we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Aspen University. We do not represent the university, and we are separate from its Office of Field Experience. We are an outside service that students choose to bring in to make the placement side of their program easier.

Why this service exists

Aspen leaves the preceptor search largely to the student, and students regularly report that search dragging on for months. That delay can stall a practicum course before it starts, because Aspen requires a signed Practicum Approval Letter before the practicum course begins.

We exist to take that burden on. Instead of cold-emailing facilities and chasing busy clinicians on your own, you work with people who do this every day and know what an Aspen-approved site and preceptor need to look like.

What we do: two service pillars

We offer two paths, and both are available for every Aspen nursing program:

Physical placement matching. We source a real, qualified preceptor and an approved in-person site that fits your specialty, for MSN students, that means a specialty-matched site such as an emergency department or correctional facility for Forensic Nursing, a health department for Public Health, or a staff-education department for Nursing Education.

Virtual practicum service. When in-person is not practical, we provide a remote preceptor and a virtual experience instead. We treat virtual as a service we can arrange for any program.

How we work

For MSN and RN-to-MSN students, the practicum is 120 hours supervised by a preceptor who is a Registered Nurse holding a master’s degree with expertise in your specialty. We match against that requirement, including the 20 direct-care-hour minimum that applies to the Nursing Education, Forensic Nursing, and Public Health tracks.

For RN-to-BSN students, the field experience is community- and public-health field work that does not require a preceptor; we help you line up and document approved hours. For DNP students, the immersion requires access to a clinical site and a preceptor, and we help you secure that piece.

Throughout, we walk you through Aspen’s process, the Office of Field Experience forms, the agreements, and logging hours, so nothing stalls your approval. You can find a preceptor with us at any point in your program.

Our honesty stance

We assist with placement; we do not guarantee it. Securing a site and preceptor depends on availability, your specialty, and Aspen’s own approval, and we will always be straight with you about what is and isn’t realistic.

On accreditation, for context: Aspen’s BSN, MSN, and DNP nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), and Aspen University is institutionally accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). We are neither, we are an independent placement service, not an accrediting body and not the university.
