Administration is divided between N550 at 40 hours and N586AM at 80 hours. A rural or seasonal organization may support a strong project but have limited dates for direct-care activity, so map those dates before Aspen reviews the final plan.
RN-to-MSN students complete undergraduate field experience before reaching the 120-hour graduate practicum. RN-to-BSN materials list N492 at 30 hours, N493 at 80 hours, and N496 at 10 hours. Those course figures total 120, while an Aspen catalog heading says 110. Confirm the catalog and course expectations that apply to you rather than relying on one total.
Make a workplace option specific
Many students explore their workplace, which can reduce travel and make project access easier. Still, a workplace proposal needs a defined project, a qualifying preceptor, organizational permission, and separation from ordinary duties as directed by the program. Ask who can sign the site agreement and whether the preceptor will remain available for evaluations and ProjectConcert documentation.
Approval materials can include a Site Affiliation or Practicum Site Agreement, signed Preceptor Agreement, preceptor CV and license report, student license report, Student Profile, and student CV. Aspen DNP students complete 1,000 supervised immersion hours in eight 125-hour courses. Up to 500 verified prior precepted hours may be approved and banked. Before committing to a distant site, discuss how supervision and access will continue across the project sequence.
