Build the calendar around the correct hour structure
Each Aspen MSN specialty includes 120 practicum hours. Administration and Management separates them into N550 with 40 hours and N586AM with 80. Forensic Nursing, Nursing Education, and Public Health require at least 20 direct-care hours within the total. Informatics and Administration have no direct-care minimum. The draft calendar should show how the activity mix fits the specialty, not just how 120 hours fit between two dates.
RN-to-MSN students complete undergraduate field experience and then the 120-hour graduate practicum. They should plan both stages. RN-to-BSN students need to confirm their applicable catalog because the courses list N492 at 30 hours, N493 at 80, and N496 at 10, which add to 120, while the catalog heading says 110. Aspen guidance should resolve the expectation for the individual student.

OFE documentation comes before ProjectConcert entries

The approval file can include a Site Affiliation or Practicum Site Agreement, signed Preceptor Agreement, preceptor CV and license report, student license report, Student Profile, and student CV. Site documents may be added.
The applicable Practicum Approval Letter must arrive before the first hour. After approval, required time and reports are recorded in ProjectConcert. Students should connect each entry to the approved project and course objective. If the department changes access or the project shifts, ask the program and OFE how to proceed rather than assuming unrelated activity will count.
DNP immersion requires a longer Nebraska partnership
Aspen DNP students complete 1,000 supervised immersion hours across eight 125-hour courses. Aspen may approve and bank up to 500 verified prior precepted hours. A Nebraska DNP site needs an on-site, doctoral-prepared, site-affiliated preceptor with appropriate leadership and project expertise. The student should confirm that the site can support the project beyond one course.
